A Man’s Primer On Feminism

Does feminist mean a large unpleasant person who’ll shout at you or someone who believes women are human beings? To me it’s the latter, so I sign up.– Margaret Atwood

[Author’s Note: this article once appeared on a website owned and operated by a liar. While John Romaniello actively encouraged me to talk about these issues more than I did at the time, he never practiced what he preached, despite his claims. As such, it seemed right to remove and repost that article. All that said, there are some things that aren’t fully true about me. Like being straight. Technically, that’s half true, I suppose. But still. Not straight. And I’m also not a libertarian like it says. Suffice it to say, much can change in eight years. And much has changed. But, the article remains in its original form with only the title changed and the addition of this note.

If you’re like my generation – those selfish little millennial pricks – you get it.

If you don’t get it, then you probably sympathize with the people who hold to their belief that a feminist reflects, as Margaret Atwood puts it, an unpleasant person who’ll shout at you. In this case, we can deduce a few things:

  • You spend too much time in the WRONG corners of the internet.
  • You misunderstand the whole “PC Culture” thing.
